Pay Monthly or Yearly?
Do you prefer paying monthly or yearly?
I personally prefer paying monthly, because I might need more space/bandwidth after some months...

Until I signed up for my latest host I only paid yearly. This monthly thing is actually pretty awesome. I'm not obligated to stay with them if I don't want to. I think that feeling is very comforting.

I prefer to pay monthly because if a company goes down then you've only really wasted a months payment and not a years worth of payment if that makes sense

I've never paid for hosting yearly, only monthly. I can see why some people do it, because you get discounts with some things if you pay annually.

Yearly is the way for me, I don't have to worry until the following year - if I need extras my host will sort it. Easy!

I always pay monthly. That is, until I saw an offer for shared web hosting for the special price of $2 per year plus one extra free year bonus when you ask for it. Interestingly I could actually install Wordpress on it and it's still running. No content yet but you can check it out if you want to here:

Well yeah, if you're paying that kind of money, it doesn't matter as much, since it's only $2...

There are several good reasons to pay monthly, but there are pros and cons:
1. You may need more resources overtime, hence needing to upgrade.
PROS: this make possible switch to a better hosting package with the same company and look for it somewhere else.
CONS: If the upgrade takes place with the same provider, depends on their expertise doing it the right way to avoid further support tickets to get fixed this or that. If going elsewhere, the time spent seeking for a new provider that suit one's needs.
2. You have not enough funds to pay yearly.
PROS: You may save money and even get free months, domains or extra resources when paying 12 or more months upfront.
CONS: The company may vanish in the thin air in the middle of the paid period if one makes the wrong selection. One need to cope with negligent support (or the lack of support) if luck was not on our side.
3. You are unsure of the company background or servers reliability.
PROS: Paying only one month will not hurt your pocket if something goes wrong during this period of time.
CONS: Downtime, DDOS attacks and other issues may occur to a good hosting company, and they might resolve it and then continue in business for the time being without major issues. You might be unnecessarily scared of this and lost a good opportunity.
At least these are the cons and pros I have found to pay either yearly or monthly.
When I could afford it, I pad yearly sometimes making a mistake, sometimes very satisfied of the service, but actually I can't afford pay for a whole year so I'm paying on a monthly basis since serveral months back.

That's right. If it fails, then I am out of money for a burger or two, that's all. It would be good for non-critical sites. Something like a static page to link back to my main site.

Yeah, I was gonna say, I wouldn't put a site that has a lot of content on; or have good uptime or support..for those kind of prices, the business would struggle to make a profit unless they have loads of clients since it's a good deal.
