Any help to choose VPS host?

I'd like some experts to help me regarding the choice of web host to get Linux VPS plans at.
It happened so that two of my friends suggested me to use VPSblast.net and Hostingsource.com.
They are a bit different in pricing, their uptime guarantee is 99.9%.
I need: 40 gbs of space, 450 gbs of data transfer, 1 gb of RAM, Linux.
What VPS hosting would be better for me?

Don't know the mentioned providers. Are they managed or unmanaged? For unmanaged you could take a look at Linode or RocketVPS in the US. Heard good things of them.

Very often, when people ask me about web hosting, they want to know if I know any cheap but good web host. This particularly applies to those who are just starting their web site and are not willing to sink a lot of money into it.

If I were you, I'd choose cheap VPS plans offered by VPSblast.net.
The combination of quality and cheapness makes them attractive for the greater part of the web masters.
Just use coupon code: RDG30OFF (hurry up, hope this coupon code is still valid).

Seems ChicagoVPS.net is the host you can rely on. They offer really nice VPS hosting solutions and have stable servers in US. It is one of the few companies on the Internet known as a true hosting company!

I'd recommend Jumpline.com - they started to offer 50% off the price on their VPS deals.
Great pricing, great support, reasonable disk space, nice webmail interface and lots of apps/scripts that are easy to install from cpanel.
Great Web host with friendly support.

I don't know anything about those VPS providers, but VPS's don't really have a problem with downtime. You pay for the support and specs. I recommend Knownhost. I've heard great things about them.
