Is there any particular reason why the host has to be in Switzerland? Is it something to do with proximity to your target market or is it something to do with copyright laws?

Think that the OP's target of audience is Switzerland.
Having done a search on Novatrend.ch, I recognized that it has quite a good reputation for providing quality hosting services.
Their Cloud hosting is based on AppLogic. Uptime is great... and I must say that their pricing is reasonable.

Why do you have to restrict your hosting plans to those in Switzerland? There are plenty of good ones around the world, and probably in US. Just the fact that the target audience resides in Switzerland does not seem like a good answer for me. Because we can find better hosting plans in USA, and maybe with a CDN we can have better transfer rates.
