Oh yes, it's very possible to start a website first and figure out the keywords later. This is what happens when you start a website the natural way.
You start by feeling a vague urge to get your presence into cyber space. Then you think of a domain name which sounds like you. After that you set up the site.
Later, you might think of using keywords to get more traffic. Sometimes you may not even bother to think about keywords if your site is dong well already. How can your site do well without bothering about keywords?
Why not?
If you have friends and they like your site, they will tell their friends, who will tell their friends and so on and so forth. In such a case, you don't have to think about keywords at all. Just keep on putting in content which your friends like.
